Flos B&B Italia Group was founded in November 2018 and is a global high-end design group operating a number of legacy brands in the world of luxury furnishings and lighting, with a European cultural heritage. The Group includes FLOS, B&B Italia, Louis Poulsen, Maxalto, Arclinea, Azucena, FENDI Casa, Audo Copenhagen and Lumens [1].
History
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Founded in November 2018 and jointly owned by independently managed investment companies of the global investment firms Investindustrial and Carlyle, Flos B&B Italia Group – formerly Design Holding - rebrands as Flos B&B Italia Group in May 2024 [3]. FormaThe rebranding initiative aims to clarify and strengthen the Group’s identity within the luxury design industry by directly anchoring its corporate name to the founding and most globally renowned brands in its portfolio. In November 2018, Flos, Louis Poulsen and B&B Italia Group (including B&B Italia, Maxalto, Azucena and Arclinea) come together to form the Flos B&B Italia Group with the aim of creating a leading global high-end design group operating in the luxury furnishings and lighting sectors.
In April 2021, Flos B&B Italia Group acquires Lumens – formerly YDesign Group, US-based leading online retailer of high-end, modern lighting and home furnishings; in May 2021, the Group and FENDI announce the launch of the joint venture Fashion Furniture Design (FF Design) to develop the FENDI Casa business.
In 2022, the Group acquires Designers Company, a Danish group that includes brands such as Menu and by Lassen, which has a strong presence in the Northern European and US design market and offers a wide range of products including furniture, lighting and accessories, pioneering the new Nordic style.
In 2023 furniture brands Menu and By Lassen have merged to form a new design brand called Audo Copenhagen. The new brand was launched on 1 June and named after Menu's Copenhagen showroom The Audo, which has been rebranded as Audo House and serves as Audo Copenhagen's headquarters [2].
