Istituto Secoli

The Istituto Secoli is a fashion school founded in Italy in 1934. It is located near P.ta Venezia in Milan, close to the city’s fashion district. Recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research as an AFAM (Higher Artistic, Musical, and Coreutic Education) institution, it is authorized under Ministerial Decree No. 1262 of September 25, 2023, to confer First-Level Academic Diplomas, equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree, for its program in Fashion Design and Product Technologies.

The Istituto Secoli offers various courses in the fashion sector:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design and Product Technologies Academic programs designed to train well-rounded professionals for the fashion industry, combining creativity, technical knowledge, and design skills.
2. Professional/Experiential Pattern-Making Courses Practical and targeted courses aimed at providing technical skills that can be immediately applied in various areas of the fashion industry.
3. Prototyping Course A training program that bridges school and industry, based on the Secoli Method. This course translates the professional needs of corporate prototyping departments into a specialized curriculum designed to prepare future fashion creators.
4. Master’s Programs Advanced programs for graduates seeking to update and enhance their skills, take on new challenges in the fashion sector, and explore specific areas of expertise.

The institute’s educational offerings are based on a practical approach, with classes primarily conducted in Italian and English in person, supported by an online e-learning platform.

Since 1990, the institute has provided consulting and corporate training services in the fashion sector, supporting companies in areas such as staff training, process optimization, and quality control.

The Istituto Secoli was founded in Treviso in 1934 by Carlo Secoli with the goal of promoting sartorial tradition and introducing a professional method for creating garments. Over the years, it has introduced innovations in industrial pattern-making and has trained numerous professionals in the field.

In 2007, the institute opened a new campus near P.ta Venezia in Milan. In 2022, it launched another campus in Novara, in collaboration with major industry brands, dedicated to prototyping training.

The Secoli Fashion Show is an annual event where students showcase their collections. The institute also organizes initiatives for emerging talents, such as the “Designer To Watch” program.

According to available data, 85% of graduates secure employment within six months of completing their studies.

The Istituto Secoli is affiliated with various fashion industry associations, including Sistema Moda Italia, ANTIA, IACDE, and Eduitalia. It is also accredited by the Lombardy Region.
